Reviewing 7 yrs of the ‘Roadmap Approach’

Consortium for Development Policy Research (CDPR) hosted its twenty-seventh Lahore Policy Exchange, titled “Reviewing 7 yrs of the ‘Roadmap Approach”.

The roadmap approach for improving public service delivery, predominantly health and education in Punjab, has contributed towards district level improvements in accountability structures. However, certain bottlenecks have also emerged. This policy talk seeks to highlight these challenges and review the relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, and impact of this approach. The following speakers were invited to discuss the impact of this approach on sector performance outcomes: Umair Javed (CDPR affiliate and Punjab Education Support Programme (PESP II) evaluation team member) – discussed the evolution of the roadmap and the challenges faced in the past 7 years Faisal Tajdar (Engagement Manager, Mckinsey) – discussed Punjab’s experience in developing and implementing the roadmap Akbar Malik (Managing Associate at the Chief Minister’s Special Monitoring Unit (SMU)) – discussed the role of the government in undertaking large and complex reform processes Dr. Ijaz Nabi (Board Chairperson, CDPR) – moderated the session.
