Adil Najam

Fellow

Adil Najam is the inaugural Dean of the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University. He is the former Vice Chancellor of the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). His research focuses on issues of global public policy, especially those related to global climate change, South Asia, Muslim countries, environment and development, and human development. In 2010 he was awarded the Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Star of Excellence), one of Pakistan’s highest civil awards by the President of Pakistan. He has written over 100 scholarly papers and book chapters.

Dr. Najam has a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore. He also has two Master’s degrees from Massachusettes Institute of Technology (MIT), one in Environmental Engineering and second in Technology Policy. Adil Najam gained his PhD from MIT in Environment and Development Policy.
