The Consortium for Development Policy Research (CDPR) is organizing its next Lahore Policy Exchange (LPE) webinar on, “New Directions in Pakistan’s Trade Policy” with Mr. Razak Dawood, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Commerce and Investment. This session will be held on Wednesday, June 9 from 5:30 pm to 7.00 pm (PST). The panel will also include Dr. Naved Hamid (Resident Director International Growth Centre (IGC) Pakistan and Professor of Economics at the Lahore School of Economics), Ms. Nazish Afraz (Teaching Fellow at the Economics Department in Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Mr. Khalid Mahmood (CEO and MD GETZ Pharma) and Mr. Sajid Minhas (CEO Delta Garments). Dr. Ijaz Nabi (Chairperson Consortium for Development Policy Research (CDPR) and Country Director IGC Pakistan), will moderate the session.
The session will begin with Mr. Razak Dawood highlighting the government’s approach to trade policy, the expected impact on growth and employment, sustained macroeconomic stability and regional/global integration. This will be followed by responses by panelists comprising economists and private sector representatives. The moderator will open the floor to questions from the audience in the last 20 minutes of the session.
