Atif R. Mian

Fellow

Atif R. Mian is currently a professor of economics at Princeton University as well as a Board Member at the Center for Economic Research in Pakistan (CERP). Prior to joining Princeton in 2012, he taught at the University of California, Berkeley and the University of Chicago. His research studies links between financial markets and the macro economy and emphasizes the role played by political, governance, and organizational constraints in shaping the effectiveness and scope of financial markets. Atif Mian’s work has appeared in top Economics and Finance journals, including the American Economic Review, Quarterly Journal of Economics, Journal of Finance, Review of Financial Studies and Journal of Financial Economics. His work has also been profiled by leading media outlets such as The Economist and The Wall Street Journal.

Dr. Mian holds a Bachelors degree in Mathematics and a PhD in Economics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
