Rashid Aziz retired from the World Bank in December 2013, after a career spanning more than 30 years at the Islamabad Office. His most recent assignment (where he spent nearly 25 years) was as Senior Energy Specialist in the Islamabad Office. During this period he contributed to all aspects of the Bankâ€™s energy sector work program, which included policy reforms, projects in electricity, oil and gas sub-sectors, and technical assistance programs.Â He participated in Bank teams (including as the Team Leader) for the preparation of sector reviews; project appraisal, implementation and evaluation reports; and policy analysis and implementation. An economist by training, Rashid Aziz joined the economic team in 1982, and moved to the Energy Unit in 1989.
Dr. Aziz has a PhD in Economics from McMaster University.
