As per the Nationally Determined Contributors (NDC), Pakistan aims to reduce its carbon emissions to 50% by 2030, increasing the importance of the transition towards renewable energy. In this podcast, Rizwan Faiz and Waqas Moosa talk about the current state and trends of renewable energy in Pakistan and the challenges associated with it. They discuss the possible future of renewables, the industry perspective in this transition, and the rise of the solar industry. 

Waqas Moosa is member of the Executive Committee of the Pakistan Solar Association. He has over 20 years of experience in building and expanding business operations in Pakistan and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) across a range of industries with a primary focus on Alternate and Renewable Energy. In 2014, he co-founded Hadron Solar, a pure play solar company operating in Pakistan.


Rizwan Faiz is a Managing Partner at the firm Faiz, Sharif & Shinwari, which greatly focuses on the power sector. He was previously the Advocate at Rizwan Faiz Associates and a member of the board of directors at Gujranwala Electric Power Company Limited (GEPCO). He has completed his LLB from the University of Edinburgh Law School.
